Custom builds

Made to measure, not off the peg

Most businesses pay monthly for software that almost fits. The gaps get plugged with spreadsheets, copy-paste and someone’s Tuesday afternoon. AI has changed the maths: it is now realistic to have the thing that fits your business exactly. Build it yourself, we will teach you. Or we cut it to measure for you.

You could build this yourself. We will show you how.

Your options

Three ways this goes, and only one of them pays us

option 1

Keep the tool you have

Sometimes the right answer. If an off-the-shelf tool covers what you genuinely need, keep it and spend your money elsewhere. We will say so on the first call.

option 2

Build it yourself

AI has collapsed the cost of building software. People who had never written code leave our training sessions with working tools. We teach, you build, you own it, and we show you how for free.

option 3

We build it

Tell us how your business runs and we cut the system to fit: one connected system instead of five subscriptions that do not share data, with your knowledge and your way of working built into the middle of it.

Below the waterline

The demo is the easy bit

Anyone can make AI look good for ten minutes. Keeping a system in production, doing real work every day, is a different job, and nearly all of it sits below the waterline. That is the part we are good at, and the reason our systems are still running.

what you see

A clean screen that does the job

Ask it something, it answers. Send it work, it comes back done.

  • Data plumbing: getting clean data in and out of every tool you already use
  • Edge cases: the weird order, the bounced email, the customer who replies in Welsh
  • Retries and failures: what happens when an API is down at 2am, and who finds out
  • Permissions: who can see what, logged, with your data staying in your accounts
  • Monitoring: the system tells us when something drifts, before you notice
  • Running costs: model and infrastructure spend watched and kept boring

The art of the possible

There is no menu

If you can describe the job clearly, it can probably be built: the quoting system that knows your margins, the inbox that drafts its own replies, the report that writes itself on Friday afternoon. A few recent builds, to show the range.

A tender engine

Finds every tender that fits a business and drafts the complete response, section by section, in the company voice.

Bidwell runs this in production as a live product, with 2,128 programmatic pages built from 32,858 contract award records.

A lead engine

Researches every prospect, enriches the record, scores the fit and writes genuinely personalised outreach, one by one.

Built for Inform Holdings: CSV in, qualified and researched contacts routed to the right account manager, one by one.

A booking platform

Takes a customer from enquiry to confirmed, paid booking without a human in the loop, with the edge cases handled.

Built for Vets at Home, a national in-home pet end-of-life service.

A content engine

Turns one campaign brief into the copy, the images and the published posts across every channel.

Started as a client build, now runs as our product Contentwell.

An attribution suite

Tracks every lead from first click to closed deal, so spend decisions run on revenue rather than last-click guesswork.

Funnelwell does this across the whole funnel, including for Purple, a WiFi analytics company with 80,000+ venues.

The thing eating your week goes here. Describe it to us.

How a build runs

Scoped from a consultation, delivered in working slices

Every build starts with the consultancy assessment, so you build the highest-payoff system first. The first slice does real work early, and each slice after it compounds.

Before you book

The questions buyers ask us

Who does the work?
The person you meet on the first call is the person who builds the system. No account managers, no handover to a delivery team you have never met.
What do you build with?
Proven, hireable tools: Next.js, Supabase, Cloudflare, and whichever AI model fits the job best. Nothing exotic. Any competent developer can pick up what we leave behind.
Who owns the system?
You do: code, prompts, data and documentation. No licence fees back to us, no hostage situation if we part ways.
What happens after launch?
Two options: we run it for you and keep improving it, or we hand it over fully documented. Plenty of clients do one then switch to the other.
How do you handle our data?
Systems are built in your own accounts wherever possible, so you hold the keys. Operosus is a UK registered company working under UK GDPR, and your data is never used to train anyone’s models.
We already have a CRM and tools we like. Is that a problem?
No. We build around what you have. Rip-and-replace is usually a way to bill more, and we only do it when the old thing is genuinely the blocker.
